My little baby sister is graduating from college soon! She walks the stage next month, and will receive her diploma in August! We are all so insanely proud of her, and to celebrate the end of her college career (hopefully not the last career she’ll enjoy), we took pictures in our hometown!
These are two of my faves!
Her full post will come soon!
A beautiful & just slightly goofy college grad right there!
Sometimes, I need to get out of the apartment. I need the fresh air, the trees & sky; I need to go for walks & drives, and just get out into the world!
My initial desire was to head to Galveston, but that didn’t end up happening. We spent a majority of the day at home, inside four walls, and I was on the brink of insanity before I corralled the family and suggested we go for a walk around our complex. It certainly made taking today’s photo a lot easier, and a bit more exciting than just blinding my husband with speedlights!
God is good, you guys.
Well…time got away from me today, and I honestly didn’t end of taking a photo during the day like I would have preferred…BUT I did take a photo today!
After coming home from a friend’s house and putting the baby to bed, I quickly realized I hadn’t taken a photo today, and that missing the first day was sure to be an omen for the entire month of photo taking. I was not going to start off on the wrong foot!
“Crap! I need to take a picture! Go change your shirt and sit in this chair, please!”
My husband indulges me like no one else! He’s a mega sweetie – even when he makes it obvious that I’m annoying him by taking his picture and blinding him with flashes!
I’m really looking forward to this month! All of the things I’ll learn, and all of the things I probably would have missed had I not forced myself to take stock in every little detail!
Man, am I behind or what? Things have been getting crazier and crazier as our little girl grows! For the lack of posts, I apologize!
In the meantime, here’s a preview of a sweet engagement session I shot this past weekend to tide you over while I finish up some work!
I love this family so much! They’ve been featured on the blog before, and that was almost a year ago (when Origen was only 11 days old)! I am so grateful to be able to call them my friends! For their session, we drove and strolled along Washington Avenue for some sweet, loving shots!
I met Whitney while attending Texas State, so I was so excited when she became pregnant and finally gave birth to baby River! You might remember seeing a look at the nursery that Whitney put together for her sweet baby boy. Now, River is here, and I am so excited to share a few shots of him!
I know it seems like I’m repeating myself over and over again, but improv has just brought so many great people into my life! Case in point: Matt Graham!
Like I said in the post previewing these portraits, Matt is not only an insanely talented improviser, but also a terrific teacher, and awesome musician! Dude does it all! He is a caring person who knows how to bring the best out of people – be they 7th grade writers-in-the-making, or students of improv learning pattern work and scene heightening devices!
The day we shot Matt’s photos was one of the most beautiful days of the year, so far! Days leading up to it had been rainy, overcast, and a little too humid for me. Now, I love working in overcast conditions, but I was pretty happy to see the sun come out when we met up at Catalina Coffee in Houston! We chatted for a bit about future improv pursuits (of course), and then got to work on his photos!
