This past week has taken a serious toll on so many people. After hearing about and seeing what has happened in Boston and West, Texas (which is practically down the road from my hometown of Waco), a dark cloud has settled over me. While I am so thankful that my family and friends are with me day in and day out, I cry for those who are not so fortunate.
I don’t typically engage in spiritual talk on the blog, but my spirituality and faith in the Divine, Creative Energy (some call it God, Spirit, the name doesn’t matter) is what is keeping myself going. I have prayed so much and so hard; with everything I have, I ask God to be with the families and loved ones that have been touched by these events. I can’t even begin to imagine what those who has been directly involved in these horrible tragedies are feeling, but I know that things will get better. Maybe not in the near future, but one day, the light will stream through the darkness.
My little baby sister is graduating from college soon! She walks the stage next month, and will receive her diploma in August! We are all so insanely proud of her, and to celebrate the end of her college career (hopefully not the last career she’ll enjoy), we took pictures in our hometown!
These are two of my faves!
Her full post will come soon!
A beautiful & just slightly goofy college grad right there!
It’s only 10:10?! I am exhausted!!!
My husband and I have now started watching Dr. Who, and despite being so totally tired that my eyes are burning, I want to keep watching.
Now, it’s 10:50 pm, and here is today’s photo!
Jeez. Not even half way through the month, and I’ve missed two days of posting!
So, to make up for it, here are some images for the 30 Days 30 Photos series! 🙂 Today’s photo will be uploaded later!
Today is my birthday. I’m a quarter of a century old, now! I have to say that turning 25 is exciting, because 25 is my favourite number! I can go rent a car from a car rental place, now! If that’s not excitement, then I don’t know what is!
Jokes. Tons more things are more exciting than renting a car, but what I’m getting at is that my birthday was great, and I’m excited for what my 25th year has to offer! Today was one of the best birthdays I’ve had! My husband left little post it notes around the apartment with reasons why he loves me; this is my first birthday with my daughter (not counting last year’s bday when she was in utero!); AND WE HAD MOOYAH BLACK BEAN BURGERS FOR DINNER! Totally awesome, guys!
Here’s to a quarter of a century & three quarters more!
I shot a wedding yesterday by myself, so I was a little bit too tired to post when I got home.
It was a beautiful casual wedding, and I’m excited to share the images with you all! For now, here’s the photo for yesterday’s 30 Days 30 Photos:
Don’t worry, another shot will be posted later today, too!
Sometimes, I need to get out of the apartment. I need the fresh air, the trees & sky; I need to go for walks & drives, and just get out into the world!
My initial desire was to head to Galveston, but that didn’t end up happening. We spent a majority of the day at home, inside four walls, and I was on the brink of insanity before I corralled the family and suggested we go for a walk around our complex. It certainly made taking today’s photo a lot easier, and a bit more exciting than just blinding my husband with speedlights!
God is good, you guys.
Okay, so I cheated a little bit today. The following photo was taken with my iPhone…please don’t hate me.
BUT I’m super excited about my new business cards! I have to give myself props for designing everything for them.
My contact info is on the back of the cards. I’m really pleased, over all!
I always get my cards printed by Furse Priority Printing based out of Austin. They’re amazing! Great prices & quality! Check ’em out!
Today, I had an experience that I want to relive every day:
I had Pinkberry for the first time!
Sophia and I met with Christine Gosch – of Christine Gosch Photography – and her two sweet babes, and we enjoyed a sweet treat!
My daughter, Sophia, will be nine months old in 12 days. Nine months! That means that in a little over a week and a half, she will have been in the outside world for as long as she was in her own little world! That seriously blows my mind!
It’s a bit dreary out today, so photos needed to be taken indoors.
Baby is a little bit cranky today, so photos needed to be taken during her nap.
I wanted to play a little bit with free lensing, and honestly couldn’t just pick one photo of my precious baby girl…so here are three!
